AYMs coordinated and supported many individual anti-deportation cases, as well as the plight of divided families. These cases enabled the movement to expose the inhumanity of the state.
Many of the anti-deportation cases involved women who had suffered domestic violence. As a consequence they were forced to leave their husbands. Jaswinder Kaur from Leeds was one of these women who fought a long campaign. She eventually won her right to stay.
