One of the major cases to be taken up by AYM, Bradford and AYM, Manchester was that of Anwar Ditta. Anwar was a Birmingham born mother living in Rochdale whose eldest three children, born in Pakistan were refused entry to Britian because the Home Office denied that they were hers.
Anwar became a prolific speaker. In this photograph she is addressing a crowd on Blackpool beach during the Labour Party conference in 1980.
